Estelnic is the most northerly situated settlement of Kézdi Chair. The settlement consists of two bigger parts: Estelnic de Jos, which is situated along the main road and the sporadic Estelnic de Sus, which stretches far along the Estelnic Creek.

The majority of the houses are built from pine tree. At some places there is no external plaster on the log houses built by excellent carpenters. The majority of the gates and fences are built from wood and it is due to the closeness of the extended forests. 

In this village, the Observant Franciscan friars of Șumuleu Ciuc have settled already in 1648 and built a friary which in 1721 became a monastery. This was the place where the first high school of Three Chairs started to function, which was founded by priest Mózes Nagy in 1680. The name of the school founder is the name of an important high school of Târgu Secuiesc.
